Rita drives Intel's CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives as the Community Engagement Program Manager in Corporate Affairs at Intel. She produces and sustains Intel's relationships with strategic local nonprofit organizations with core focus on STEM, girls and women empowerment, environmental stewardship and closing the academic achievement gap for under-represented youth. She also manages Intel award winning global employee volunteer program at the local level. Rita has received internal and external recognition for her innovative approach to employee volunteer engagement, including the Intel Achievement Award (the highest level of recognition at Intel) for developing and driving a global volunteer effort to celebrate Intel's 40th Anniversary. She has likewise won several Corporate Affairs, Achievement Awards, and Divisional Recognition Awards. Rita created the Intel Involved Hero Award Program that recognizes employees who achieve the highest levels of volunteer engagement around the world. The employee is awarded $10,000 to donate to the school of nonprofit where they volunteered.
Rita holds a BA Degree in Humanities, and Western European History from San Jose State University in San Jose, CA. Rita graduated from the Boston College Carroll School of Management with a Certificate in Community Engagement Management.
Rita serves as a state commissioner for California Volunteers; re-appointed by Governor Jerry Brown, in 2016
Rita lives in San Jose, California with her 5 year old Chihuahua, Thor, and enjoys watching professional Ice Hockey, Arena Football, and NFL football Oakland Raiders and San Francisco Forty-niners. Rita enjoys travelling abroad and touring various cities throughout the United States of America.
Rita has worked at Intel since 1997.
