Community Economic Development Update

We are now taking the first step in building the infrastructure of the AACSA Community Economic Development programs and activities for the Silicon Valley area. As a result of the community input received at the last community Forum, we are preparing to implement and launch an Online Resource Center on 05/01/2007.

Our future goals are to plan and implement the following:

1) Implementation of Business and Career related Programs and Activities
2) Promote Business and Career related calendar of events in the Silicon Valley
3) Establish a computer lab schedule, computerization of the library and transition of the library to be utilize more effectively
4) Implementation of Non-Profit organization technology training courses

In the future we will be posting on the AACSA web site for your feedback simple surveys. Your feedback is very important to us.

The main emphasis that the committee has identified is collaboration with organizations and businesses located within the community and Silicon Valley. These implementations and programs are made possible through an AT&T grant that was awarded to the AACSA.

The Community Economic Development committee meets once a month in which our next meeting is 04/07/2007 at the Agency. If you have any questions or would be interested in attending the next Community Economic Development committee meeting, please send us an email at economic@sjaacsa.org.
