Your Child Is Failing!

The dominant theme found throughout the East Side Union High School District is that the African American/Black American student is failing at an alarming rate. High School drop outs are 72% more likely to be unemployed and they will earn 27% less than high school graduates. (Source, Dept. of Labor)

The following is the list of High Schools where the African American Student is falling further and further behind. Each person listed has 2 or more D or F's and is in jeapordy of failing.

Don't assume teachers have examined your child's cumulative file.

Parents, you have rights. You have a right to observe your child in school. Do be kind, considerate, and professional. If your child is failing, get involved. It could be your child is giving less than his best. Once you've ruled out your child, go to the teacher and ask why. If their response is unsatisfactory, go to the principal.

Join your local African American Parent Coalition and begin to step your way to improvement. For more information on the East Side Union High School District AAPC please contact Rev. We are often troubled, but not crushed; sometimes in doubt, but never in despair; there are many enemies, but we are never without a friend; and though deeply hurt at times, we are not destroyed....And this small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us tremendous and eternal joy, much greater than the trouble. For we fix our attention, not on things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever.
