ALA is a year-long program that empowers high school and college students with the guidance, mentorship, and resources needed to graduate and build successful futures. Through leadership development, career exposure, scholarships, and civic engagement, ALA helps them break barriers, access career opportunities, gain internships and become strong advocates for social change in their communities. Current ALA Cohort 8 Stats: Three College Students interning at City of San Jose City Hall
Two College Students interning at African American Community Service Agency
One College Student accepted into Valley Water Works Program with a guaranteed summer internship
Four High School Students serving on local committees Four Students attended the CBC ALC 54th Legislative Conference in Washington, D.C.
Two college students attended the NATIONAL CARES MENTORING Gala in New York Who is Eligible to Apply? High School and College Students! ALA Cohort 9 - Each Participant will receive:
Stipend: First half in the beginning of the program and Second half upon Graduation
