Our next STEAM on Saturday Winter session is from-October 18, 2025 - December 13th, 2025, happening every Saturday at the African American Community Service Agency from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.! - Ages 6–14 - Ages 6–14 - Hands-on Lego Robotics curriculum, creative exploration, and STEAM-powered fun! - Don’t miss this chance to inspire the next generation of innovators and creators. This hands-on experience also aligned with the National Black Child Development Institute’s Eight Essential Outcomes, including: - Lives and plays in a safe community - Is seen as a child - Has books and toys that reflect who they are and can be - Breathes clean air and drinks clean water

The African American Community Service Agency (AACSA) is excited to kick off its Senior Citizens Connected Program eight-week program, sponsored by Kaiser Permanente and City of San Jose Councilmember Carl Salas, from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at AACSA! Senior Citizens Connected Program is designed to foster the senior community connections, enhance technology skills, eat wholesome meals, engage in interactive games, and participate in activities promoting health, wellness, and meaningful engagement. Join us every Thursday as we create a space for education, connection, and community!

Dance Class with Trey Russell returns on September 25th, proudly funded by El Camino Health. Alongside fun and movement, participants will also receive valuable resources on Diabetes and Obesity awareness to support healthier lifestyles. This class offers a joyful way to stay active, relieve stress, boost confidence, and connect with community—all while enjoying music and creativity. The African American Community Service Agency (AACSA) is thrilled to announce this month’s AACSA Family Resource Center (FRC) Open Library program, featuring Kristi Williams, founder of Black History Saturdays! Kristi Williams is a community activist, historian, and advocate for racial justice and cultural preservation. A descendant of survivors of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre and Creek Freedmen, Kristi draws on her rich ancestral heritage to champion equity, historical truth, and accountability. Highlights about Kristi: - Founder of Black History Saturdays, a program fighting the erasure of Black history in schools - National Geographic Explorer & 2024 Wayfinder Award recipient - Member of the 1921 Tulsa Mass Graves Oversight Committee and Black Wall Street Chamber of Commerce Following Open Library, Kristi will lead a powerful workshop: “Teaching Truth in a Time of Erasure: Why Black History Matters.” Date: September 13, 2025 Time: 10:00am - 11:00am - Read-In to the children! 11:00am - 12:00pm - Black History Saturday Workshop for all community members, educators, teachers, students, elected officials and more!
